Leh trip - August 2011 - need company

hi....
we(2/3 ppl) r planning to goto leh ladakh by bike approx around aug 13th from delhi through manali route..our itinerary is like below...

Day1 Delhi - Manali
Day 2 Manali - Keylong
Day 3 Keylong - Sarchu
Day 4 Sarchu - Leh
Day 5 Leh, rest and arrange permit for Nubra Valley and Khardung La
Day 6 Leh - Khardung La - Nubra Valley
Day 7 Nubra Valley - Khardung La - Leh
Day 8 Leh - Pangong Tso - Leh ( taxi)
Day 9 Leh - Sarchu
Day 10 Sarchu - Manali
Day 11 Manali - Delhi
Day 12 buffer

anybody interested to go from delhi pls let us know so that we plan accordingly...

also someone pls let me know how the conditions will be in aug throgh manali and leh....will it be raiing bad...and how advisable is the timing........

HI guys... This is my 1st blog post registration.. Am from delhi and have been evaluating the delhi-manali-leh trip for sometime now.. conclusively, i plan to leave delhi on the 12th of August stretching the trip for atleast 14 days.. With references to other posts on the forum, I am tryin to chart out a detailed itinerary.. I am a solo traveller with very little experience in explorations barring a couple of trips to kalpa in Kinnaur.. It would be great to have company for sharing such an experience..

I am in Leh from 15th onwards. So if you plan around same week then we can team up and do a bike venture on the roads of Leh.

13th Aug : Heading to manali by car
14th Aug : Start early morning for Leh
15th Aug : Reach leh and rest
17-18th Aug : Pangong lake (prefer to do by car)
19-20th Aug : Nubra Valley by bike
21st Aug : Rafting
22nd Aug I will do my planned trek
26th Aug either come to manali or Srinagar.

Staying at Sarchu is dicey, most people get hit by AMS there. Darcha / Jispa / Patseo are better options...

Reach Delhi at 9am by 12 Noon Leave delhi as planned ( Upward journey tickets are booked ) I have royal enfield classic 500 , if any back up on spare parts on bike please need your help.
28th Aug : Delhi to Mandi
29th Aug : Mandi to Kelong
30th Aug : Kelong to Karu
31st Sept : Karu to ( take rest in Leh )
1st Sept : In an around Leh and Permits
2nd Sept : Khardungla
3rd Sept : Pangkong Lake
4th Sept : Leh to Sarchu
5th Sept : Sarchu to Manali
6th Sept : Manali to Chandigarh
7TH Sept : Chandigarh to Delhi and same day take rajdhani to Mumbai

21st August: Visit Turtuk or another places in Nubra Valley
22nd August: Nubra Valley - Khardung La - Leh
23rd August: River Rafting (Indus river)
24th August: Plan for the trek

Hi everyone.. i might be insane but haven't planned on anything so far. thinking of going on a crash trip after some futile attempts with lots of planning last year.

I really am not planning to do a bike trip as i've got to travel from Chennai. but i really am up for joining if somebody wishes some company.

Also guys pl. suggest from crash plan if possible i can reach delhi around 15 + or - 1 day and have around 12 days at hand.

You can book your air tickets on 15th Aug to Leh and rest.
I have mentioned my plan in this link above and we are a group of 4 already and will be 6 at Leh (on 16th Aug).
We are planning for a bike journey in Leh and do rafting also.

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to get to Leh the morning of Thurs 18-Aug and leave early Tues 23-Aug. Traveling alone so I'd love to find someone/people to share adventures or at least taxis with. Mostly just want to see the scenery but I'd be open to short hikes (ie a few hours).

Here is my tentative itinerary:
18-Aug: land, acclimatize, local sites
19-Aug: maybe monasteries or other things around Leh
20-Aug: Khardung-La Pass and the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers
21-Aug: Leh to Pangong Lake
22-Aug: Pangong Lake to Leh
(the days can be changed around)
