Leh tour plan
I m planning to tour Leh in May end next year (2010).Does Manali-Leh highway reopen on 30th May?? Which is the best accommodation place in Nubra Valley, Alchi & Sarchu?? I want to travel by hired car with family n stay in decent/dlx hotels/camps.Budget not a problem for a decent stay vth family.

Ashish I think second week of June is a safe bet for Rohtang being open. But I think vehicels start plying earlier, and as far as I have gathered when will it open is always going to be an inexact prediction

This year the road opened on May 26th, and it was one of the latest openings ever .Mid-May is more typical. Open doesn´t mean automatically that conditions are good , or that the road is permanently open , esp. the first weeks. You´ll find some road reports before and after the opening(s) on my site.
