Leh to Padum - HOW?

Hi,

Is it possible to get to Padum from Leh without going to Kargil?

Is there a direct shorter route maybe hike or raft?

I want to get to Padum from Leh within a Day. Is it possible? What is the best way?

Padum to Leh in a day is not possible. The fastest option is by car/bus (via Kargil) which takes 2 days.

The only other option is hiking, which takes about a week I think. I'm not sure what the shortest route is. I trekked from Lamayuru to Padum (and onwards to Darcha) last year. Lamayuru - Padum is a 10-day hike.

Thanks Vzz, I think I am going to take a cam to Padum and then spend a couple days hiking around zanskar.
