Well, if my work sends me back to Bangalore I'm thinking I'd like a week up north holiday first.

Best Time to go to LEH if you want a Safari all around Snow
Yu will have to fly bothways to Leh via Delhi as no access through road at that time
It may take 2 days to get used to the High altitude
My preferred best time is June onwards via the Manali - Leh Jeep Safari
No Place like Leh Ladakh if you visit all places like Pangong Lake,Alchi Village,Nubra Valley and the list is endless.
Its a Great choice

hi!
I do not consider it a 'just a week's getaway' place especially during this time. Remember there is a great possibility of your flight being cancelled or postponed etc.
Go there during this period if only you want to be the only handful of tourists. Thawing starts around this period and the higher passes will be under snow mostly. But you never know what you might see or discover! But I suggest you read more and see if you really want to go there. Otherwise choose the greener Himalayan belt.

Well, went to a bookshop today, had a look a the India LP and looks like mid-june to mid-september is the time to go, which is a shame since that will almost exactly to the day be when I am not in India (ie will be there mid-April to mid-June, then hopefully again from mid-September to mid-December).
Looks like it will have to wait until another year.
