Leh next year
It`s my 40th next year in July, just back from Goa last week for the wifes 40th, not really feasible to visit Goa in July so fancied a little something different. Been to Manali about 6 year ago and would love to go even further and visit Leh.
My plan would be to fly to Delhi from the UK then maybe bus up to Manali then I don`t really know which option to take from here ? Do I catch another bus to Leh or do I hire a driver to take me ? as it is a once in a lifetime thing I wouldn`t mind splashing out on that extra luxury as my nerves will be already shot from the trip to Manali by bus. What is it likely to cost me, bearing in mind I will probably fly back down to Delhi having done what I wanted to do heading up to Leh (Rhotang etc). Only a 15 day trip, shame I know but it will leave me a bit of time to squeeze in the Taj for the pleasure of my Mrs. Any advice is good, thanks in advance ![]() |

I wrote this for a website called GoNomad and it contains some information about various options of going to Ladakh by road. Hope it helps. |

Hey
If you want to rent a car, it'll be pretty expensive, somewhere around 5k one way, if I remember correctly. But check up the rates anyway. It'll be at least 5k. I suggest u can get a good bargain once u reach Manali Cheers Amar |

hi
if u are intrested in going by road from manali to leh then hiring a cab would b the best way though expensive. price one way is ard 10k/11k. if you do not wanna go by road then you can directly take a flight to leh from delhi which costs approx 6000rs per person one way. it would come to same amount including ur delhi manali ticket n stay expense. this would give you extra time to squeeze in agra visit as well. but since you are planning to visit next year ie2007 rates might change till then. |

It is Possible the rates might be different as these were based on 2-3 years ago

Thanks guys, some food for thought there, just gives me some rough idea of how much, there will be 4 of us travelling so splitting the cost doesn`t make it too bad, thanks
