Pangong hasn't frozen yet, that’s strange. What all places did you manage to visit during your trip? Did you went to Nubra or only till Khardung La?

Leh confirmed March 8-11th, anyone else traveling then?
Abhi182 - nice pictures! Sounds like you dont get AMS! I am hoping we are like you, because we go skiing in the weekends at 11,000 ft and are fine. But 15K may be different. Anyway, where in Leh did you stay?

Nice pics. The one of the taxi sideways on the road brought back memories... the same thing happened to me in late May on the way to Pangong. It snowed overnight and a lot of the Qualis's had nearly bald tires and no chains. Good times.

Trip Dec 24 - Dec 28
I'll be in Leh this December. I have only 4 days there. Can you suggest a good hotel? Also what can I do / see in just four days? I'll be flying, so I guess, I'll need a day to acclimatize.

Hello Abhi,
I did not go to Leh last year, but went to Srinagar instead. Srinagar was nice. Stayed in the houseboat on Dal lake and the prices were low. Then went to Gulmarg, and also went all the way to Pakistan border with a friend who works for BSF. Leh would be a totally different experience from Srinagar I believe. Good luck in your travels. Even in early March it was cold at night. Very cold. Quote:
In early March it was above freezing during the day, but first thing in the morning and in the evenings I was wearing polartec base layer, wool jumper, polartec fleece AND a down jacket.

hey guys I am also headed to Leh from Delhi for 3 days flat. Jan 1 - 4th morning. I intend to enjoy some snow and visit monastries and try my hand at ice skating. I have extensively traveled through to the Himalayas but anything about minus 10 is gonna make me go crazy though I have ample winter gear. Any suggestions? I am staying at a 5 star hotel so they have heat and hot water. But tell me is there actually snow in Leh??? Thanks guys. Halo your insights could help. Cheers
