Leh - Diskit for Dalai Lama's Teachings

Hi,
Is anyone interested in travelling from Leh to Diskit for the Dalai Lama's teachings on the 7/8/9th of August? Will probably head off from Leh on the 6th so we could meet up in Leh on the 5th to arrange transport plans. I am sure there are lots of people interested in going to these teachings so it would be nice to have a group and to share travel costs!
Rach

I am Isabel and I'll be in Leh in about 3 days. It will be great to share with you the travel and the costs to the Dalai Lama's teachings. I am on my way to Leh from McLeodGanj tonight.
I am travelling alone and I can't wait to arrive to Leh. I am a little dissapointed with all the tourists here. (I know I am one of them... but I want SILENCE AND PEACE !
Will be nice to hear from you,
best,
Isabel

Hi Isabel,
That's great. I am also travelling solo, I arrive in Leh on the morning of the 1st. Are you arriving the 2nd?
I haven't been to Leh before but perhaps we could arrange to meet at the tourist office or a cafe (Penguin Bar maybe)...sorry getting this from the lonely planet!
So would you be interested in maybe going to Pangong Lake then back to Leh in time to get up to Diskit for the 6th?
Looking forward to hearing from you. Private message me if you prefer!

Hi guys,

I'm also planning to travel to Diskit for the teachings and would love to share the journey and travel costs. I'm actually in London at the mo! But, will be flying up to Leh on the 4th sorting out the permit and will be ready to move on on the 5th or 6th. Have never been to Leh before (well actually even India!)... so I'll definitely let you guys make the suggestions of where to meet up. Look forward to hearing from you.

Nick

Well...it must be the first time that anything has EVER happened early in India and it had to be my flight. Which departed 2.5 hours early today. Which means I miss my flight to Leh from Delhi tomorrow morning. I probably should have checked to see it was departing on time, but never thought it would be early. Thought the worst would be that I would have to hang around the airport for a couple of hours.
Don't know what I am going to do now...probably won't be able to get on another flight to Leh as they book out so far in advance.
I feel blue...

Hi everyone, I am in Leh! Definitely need to give yourself some time to get used to the altitude, I'm all over the place

So I am staying at the Old Ladakh Guest House which is in central Leh. I'm going to sit at the German Bakery & read my book for a few hours if any one gets this. Or you could swing by my guesthouse tonight, perhaps a few people would be interested in grabbing something to eat?

Well I hope we can arrange to meet up.

Rach

Glad to hear that you made it up there so quickly after the preponing incident , really groaned when I read that.

Let me also recommend the Non-German Bakeries( Leh´s smallest teahouse also used to be there , but closed many years ago) and the yummilicious apricot juice at Dzomsa.

Mmmm..... chuli chu

oi, ok, im in leh now and weirdly enough, i dont feel that all over the place. Is it just me? Anyways, I heard he (the Lama) is gonna speak on the 6th and 7th, two days, but im not sure about the reliability of my source... Also, it would be clever to get accomod. in diskit pretty soon, as the place is gonna be filled up i assume. Jeep is like rps 5000, pretty much, local bus like 6 hrs about 150 ive been told. Sounds like a good thing, but I need to get some people together for the nubra passes.. I will try to find you Rach, ill look for a guy with a book, or Ill try to locate your guesthouse tonight to find u. Oki. My name is ida. See u.

This teaching schedule is usually correct . Enjoy , and practice shallow breathing - the place will be packed.
