hi
we r planning 2 go 2 leh by road can any one recomend where 2 stay in kargil and leh budget is 1000-1500. it should be clean with running hot water and other facilities

In kargil i would recommened Hotel D Zojila, stayed there in may end, the room was around 800 Bucks, now the fair would have increased a bit. & u wud get all the basic amenitites there.

In leh u would get N numbers of hotels within this budget, dont worry go ahead.

In kargil you can stay at Hotel Dreamland for approx 400-500 per night. decent hotel. Your budget is way to high.
In Leh you can check hotels at Fort Road.

Suggest you check a few hotels you might get better hotels for a less cost even.

6 days might be little short. Take 2 days to reach Leh from Srinagar with a o/n at kargil.
Day trips from Leh Pangong So and Leh city
2 day trip nubra
coming back you can reach Manali or Srinagar in a single day. Check my pages for details...

Hi flying,

ur budget is very good to get a clean room. U can get hotels cheaper btw Rs600-800 with running hot water on Fort Road & Changspa.

Make sure you dont land up telling the touts that u are looking for a clean and blah blah blah..... It ensures the touts that u are good & rich meat. Trust me, being a girl stayed in a Rs400 hotel and I am a BIG BIG cleanliness freak.
And honestly it was clean and one of the best but Oh yes clean.

Honestly, your budget is way way more than what the decent clean budget hotel rates are...

And try and increase the duration of your stay... Ladakh is sooo vast and there's really sooo much to see... Most of the time gets used up in travelling from one point to the other...

The Nubra Valley is special - once you are there, you are no longer in the Himalayas, but are in the Karakoram Ranges, geographically a part of Central Asia... The experience, in one word, is absolutely exhilarating...!
