Leh bike trip - itinarary help

i am leaving for leh on my unicorn 150cc. The plan is as follows:-

Day 1 – 18 sep – Greater Noida to Chandigarh(300 km)
Day 2 - 19 sep – Chandigarh to manali(310 km)
Day 3 – 20 sep – Manali to chandertal
100 km + 26km (to and fro batal-chandertal)
Manali - Rohtang Jot - Gramphoo - Chhatru - Batal - Chandratal – Batal/kumaon top – Chhatru
Day 4 – 21 sep: Chhatru - Gramphoo - Kokhsar - Tandi - Keylong - Baralacha La - Sarchu
Day 5 – 22 sep: Sarchu - Pang - More Plains - Tanglang La - Upshi – Leh(260 km)
Day 6 – 23 sep: Leh
Explore places around Leh i.e. gompa, leh palace, likir gompa, Alchi, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib and also get the permits for Pangong Tso/Khardungla/Nubra valley/ Tso moriri
Day 7 – 24 sep: Leh - Khardung La - Diskit/Hunder (Nubra Valley)125 km
Day 8 - 25 sep: Diskit/Hunder - Panamik- Khardung La– Leh(125 km)
Day 9 – 26 sep: Leh - Chang La - Pangong Tso(120 km)
Pangong Tso – Marsimek La (18634 ft) – Highest Motorable Pass on earth(32 kms)
Day 10 – 27 sep: Pangong Tso - Chang La - Leh(120 km)
Day 11 – 28 sep: Leh - Chumathang - Tso Moriri (Korzok)
Day 12 – 29 sep: Tso Moriri - Tso Kar - Debring - Tanglang La – Leh
Leh – Kargil(234 km)
Day 13 – 30 sep: Kargil to srinagar (204 km)
Day 14 – 01 oct: Srinagar
Day 15 – 02 oct: Srinagar to patnitop(183 km) (5 hrs)
Day 16 – 03 oct: Patnitop to Jalandhar(343 km) (9 hrs)
Day 17 - 04 oct: Jalandhar to delhi(390 kms)

Q1:- Does this itinarary worable??
Q2:- i need a permit for tso moriri? If yes, can i get it from manlai?
Q3:- Should i carry my own tent? Is there any arrangement at batal, pangong & tso moriri during this time?
Q4:- Can i club zanskar with this route. What i the route for doing zanskar river rafting?

Day 12 seems to be bit above average..depends on your driving skills..

I agree with Riddick that on Day 12 you may have to push really hard.


Overall workable but hectic as not a single day for any road blokage or anything.


No tent in Tso Moriri & Pangong Tso at this time of year. they rap up their bisiness around 15 sep.(last year experience).


But probably tent not required as some guest house at Karzok and Village near pongong would be availble.


Since you are almost taking 11 days To & Fro to leh. Though it is good, but you are left with barely 7 days in Ladakh.
Try to stay more days in ladakh for satisfying trip.

Q1:- can i get some tents at batal/chattru. How far is chandertal from sissu?
Q2:- I hope that tents on rent are available at leh?
Q3:- What type of precautions are req. for my bike (honda unicorn 150cc)??Should i carry leg pump, etc..??
