Lamayuru to Alchi without a guide?
Hi guys,
A friend and I are thinking of doing the Lamayuru to Alchi trek without the help of a guide, some time towards the end of May. We have done the Markha Valley trek a couple of years back, so we are decently familiar with the kind of conditions to expect in Ladakh. The main question is - Is this trek well marked, so that we can follow a trail to get to the intermediate camping places? The main motivation for doing this on our own is that we don't mind subsisting on small rations of food for 5-6 days, so that the only thing we would have to carry are the tent and sleeping bags. But if we decide to hire a guide, then we'll have to hire porters to carry his food, etc. Please let me know. Thanks a lot in advance for your time! Amit. |
