Thumbs up Ladakh in June

hi,
I am planning to go to ladakh in the month of june. I have a total of 9 days for this vacation. I will be travelling with my parents, so I want the journey to be comfortable for them. Can anyone advice which is best week to go in June and what is the best way of travelling.. should I take a plane from Delhi or should I go to Manali first and then from Manali to Ladakh..

If I go from manali to Ladakh will I have enough time to spend in ladakh.. You see I have lots of question so I will go slowly

Yogesh

my suggestions

1) plan for last week (less cold)

2) fly from delhi, 2 day road journey from manali may not suit elders

3) read other threads in 'Ladakh & Zaskar'.......you will get all information

4) 8 days on ladakh is okay for first trip to Ladakh

5) book good hotel in advance for comfortable stay

6) book airline ticket as early as possible

It's always easier to fly in and out of Leh...

But, to have an experience of a lifetime, nothing like the Manali - Leh road... ! Just awesome and outta this world...!

But then, you have your parents with you - so take the flight...

And about the wheres, hows, whats and whens, check this thread... You should have all your questions answered hopefully (before you even ask them...!)

Ladakh in 5 Days...???!!! (Or 6 or 7 or 10 or 15...!!!)

Cheers...!

How can anyone answer such a question...???

That is a question which can obviously only be answered after taking them to the relevant altitude...!!!

But seriously, it is best avoidable...

Nosebleeds and Earbleeds just because of the Air pressure levels is not very uncommon... This wasn't meant to dissuade you or anyone else; but it sure is a good idea to be prepared...

Hi Yogesh:
Last year I went there with my family. we Stayed in Hotel Khangri, quite close to the central market. We payed Rs. 1300/ per day. It was a nice hotel with almost all facilities.

Lets assume that the OP knows their parents, has some understanding of what their conditioning is and where they might have travelled to before and of any medical conditions they may have experienced in the past. Worst case scenario, the OP could even ask..

The Manali Leh route is more stressful than the Srinagar route. More nature though. Look up the posts by Vistet for details which I consider invaluable..
