Ladakh Hike In Late Oct.?

i'll be in Leh and the surrounding area from Oct 23rd to Nov 2nd- i am not equipped to do any serious trekking, but i do have lots of day/overnight hiking experience from BC, and i'm reasonably fit (27 years old).. Anyone know a good 2 or 3 day hike in Ladakh in late October?

hi there,
see first off all its important to say that acclimatization is not propotional to your fitness level.Even very experienced climbers can have AMS if they dont bother about it.So you must be going there by air so first of all you need to properly acclimatize in LEH.As you going in late october very few trekking equipment shops remain open at that time.As the weather is very harsh and the medical aid is not so good at this time so dont take an unthoughtfull desicion.Moreover from LEH even to visit a short hiking point at this time you need to have 5 to six days in hand.You can trek Tsomoriri or Pangong.You can also trek to Choker Village.For all of them you need permit and mind it Choker village is hard trek and atmosphere there is really very rarified with no medical aid, so carry along oxygen if visiting this place.Best of luck...And yes THIKSEY festival is on 28 october onwards do visit it.GOd bless you
