The sight seeing trips at Leh seems to be very expensive.
I was wondering if its easy to find people out there at the Taxi stand itself, who would agree to join you for a particular excursion & henceforth share the costs.

This would make the sightseeing in Leh more affordable & manageble.
Has anyone done this before or experienced the same ?

We (2 ppl) shall be arriving on 23rd of August early morning at Leh & plan to leave on 30th of August early morning.

During this 7 days of stay at Leh, we intend to explore Tso Mori, Nubra - kardungla pass, Pangong lake & Zanskar river.

I think your guess is fairly good. What I have seen is that there are always tourists who are looking for partners to share the cost and multiply the fun. I am not sure of guys on taxi stand to share the taxis. But what I have seen is that on many utility places (STD\PCO, or cyber cafe or travel agent or hotels, or even restaurants), you would find some postings ( a note posted on the door glass or similar) by guys who are looking for fellow travellers to share the taxi\cab for visit to Pangaong, Nubra, Lamayuru, Zanskar........ etc. They normally post info on how many are they, where they plan to go and when while seeking the company to share the cost. Day trips, I guess, are usually more. If you look around, I am sure, you would find a good number of them. Of course, you need to hang around the central areas of Leh to find out, and ma be lucky on it. But I would say chances are good. Try it out. Your guess is very correct.
