Internet shop/cafe in Leh ?
I know ther is a thread in the "Geek Speak", but I´d like to know whether there is a shop/cafe in Leh to download photos from tze memory stick to a CD.
Digital store bins are quite expensive and if there is an alternative...
So: Someone seen/used such a shop in Leh?
Thanks!

I was in Leh 3 years ago and many things may have changed. (I will see in three weeks :-))
There were some Internet-Cafes but the conections were very slow and unreliable. It was not possible to sent pix home or to any server.
I have not seen any card-reader or cd-r - but things change...
See you in Leh

the connections were still very slow as of last summer. It would take one hour on average to check my mailbox and send one email.
Most of the computers have usb ports, so if you have a usb cable for your camera, you are in business if you only want to save the photos to disk.

One alternative would be a portable card reader/ CD writer combo , esp. if you are thinking about buying a new CD/DVD player. Apacer Disc Steno sells at around 300USD. A bit on clunky side, .7 kilos if I remember it right.
Way to go creative quoting , leaving out the comma (,) mark
The Apacer doesn`t have DVD function, but Hama Mobile Datasafe, same price has.
Slightly heavier : .85 kilo. That`s 850 grams, about 2 pounds or 1/200th camel load.. ok ?
