expert taxi drivers needed for leh

Please recommend expert taxi drivers for my leh trip in august 2012,i have contact nos of regzin, but he is very busy and has no time...

Somebody (Leh expert, most probably Dheeraj, on this Forum, I am forgetting the name exactly, sorry for that ) had suggested few days or months back the name of Northen with the number 09419373021. I had noted it down for future reference! You may give a try to it!

i can suggest you the driver but can you tell me the progg. & which car & amount you want to pay.

seems that you have already tried contacting Regzin. he'll arrange for another driver/ why worry?

I followed Indiamike for planning my trip to Laddakh. I had contacted Regzin but he was not available. He referred his friend's friend Tashi (mobile- 09419873185) to me. We hired Tashi and had a good experience. He knew the area well and was cooperative.

Kunal, not sure if you have already contacted Tunkup (hired by Lakshmi). Seems like that he is a decent option in absence of Rigzin. Btw could you share your itinerary and hotels where you are planning to stay during your trip?

Goombaj, nice to know that you had a good experience. How much Tashi charged for your trip? Could you also share your itinerary and the hotels where you stayed during your trip?

This May / June I utilised Regzin's services for 10 days during my Ladakh trip. He has a Scorpio and a brand new Xylo. drk was absolutely right in suggesting his name. Scores of IMers including Kshil, the acknowledged Ladakh expert, travelled with regzin. He has two telephone Numbers, the one other than the one supplied by drk is 09469472772. Nowadays he uses this number more, if he is in town. One problem with Leh based drivers is that if they are outside Leh, driving some tourists, they are cut off from mobile connectivity. Excepting very erratic connection at Hunder, you have no mobile connectivity anywhere else.

If you get Regzin over phone, you may take my name as one of your friends to get a better deal.
