Very well said Anup sir
The (BCMT) efforts were pretty successful. The final supplies of Medicines are almost ready to be dispatched to Ladakh.
I am sure we can pull something similar over here.
I am sure we can pull something similar over here.
reliable sources in Manali tell me that the first cars made their way into Leh Today. So from tomorrow onwards, the relief trucks would start pulling in. So people who still want to go can resume their plan from Sept first week onwards!

What a laugh ...... hey cant ensure the CWG statiums are ready in time and that too in capital - how will they ensure every ladhakies house is built within 3 months.
I am sick of our leaders who use natural calamities and national tragedies for selfish political gains.

They are right houses would be constructed but not for Ladhakies but farm houses for their family and friends

CWG is different. It was accepted because there could be huge pay-offs. I do not know what part of it went to Congress funds. There was no other reason. Some say we have spent 850 billion (85,000 crore) rupees on it. We do not have competitive players. A similar project is Sethu Samudram passage. It is being built to oblige Karunanidhi and DMK for their support. A. Raja, Dayanidhi Maran, Pawar, Mamata Bannerjee, Lalu Yadav, Ram Bilas Paswan, and Shibu Soren, have been obliged for similar reasons. Ladakh and Kashmir are different and because of their strategic value the houses will be built. We also need people for Ladakh Scouts. So what are 1.25 billion rupees? It will get good publicity. You need to think as politicians do.
so sad... LEH
I just received this email from a guesthouse... (We will be in Leh at end of september).
Hello Friends,
Thanks for the mail.
Unfortunately , we lost almost everything in the recent devastating flood and landslide. The villages around Leh are the most badly affected.Like road, bridges, telecom, water supply etc.
Today we could come to Leh and writing to you guys personally from cyber cafe.
Personally, I lost my uncle, the guesthouse and all the cultivated fields, means almost everything.
Luckily, me my wife could save 8 guests at our guesthouse on that fateful night with great difficulty.
Now we have to start everything right from the beginning.
Sincerely, we are looking for financial help, so that we can start our livelihood with our guesthouse and company.
Regards from Devastated Ladakh.

Hi everyone,
Some of you might have read my dramatic, very worried story last week about not hearing from my 18 year old son and his girlfriend for four days after the flood.. Well, they are fine, thank goodness and recently sent an update on the situation in Leh if you would like to hear what he has to say about it. They are currently in Mcleod Ganj and will be coming back to the states next week.. Please keep in mind that he is writing fast and his grammar isn't all that perfect, he's writing it renegade 18 year old style with some long run-on sentences!
In terms of what leh is like... its basically back to normal, besides the road being much slower... takes about 3 days to drive between leh and manali now though that is assuming that a bridge isnt broken which last i heard it was. It is very nice though, it is raining more than usual, usually its at most a light sprinkle but if you fly in all will be fine though tickets are fairly expensive though it is a very comfortable short(45 min) trip. Everything is fine though except most places dont have all the food and things like chicken and mango have to be flown in as well... There is internet htough you have to wait a little while to use it 15min-1hr maybe longer depending on conditions and the hysteria at the moment. The phones only kind of work and its better to use peoples mobiles and then have home call back but besdies all that it is lovely as always though you can't go trekking in many places and if you want to go too srinigar and kashmir you shouldnt because in the past week 5 indian students were stoned to death while driving to their. It is very nice but it is hard to get around but if yourr fine being confined to roads without bridges and not trekking and just want to go to leh to see it go ahead because leh is beautiful and a very nice place to hang out with lots of jamming late at night at eureka cafe near the bridge in changspa or elements. If you do go, stop in at eureka and say hi to bhudha for me(his real name is mahindra).
Hope that helps to hear his update!
Be well everyone and thanks again for your support. You all were a wonderful lifeline for me last week when i was so scared for my boy!
