Cheapest way to Leh!!

Hi,
I am looking to bagpack with a bunch of friends and explore Leh-Ladhak.
Can you folks out here help me with the cheapest plan to Leh and around...

We are also looking for some adventure such as White water rafting and some trekking...

I have about 10 days.. (28th May starting from Delhi to 8th may back)

What do you guys think we should be visiting and checking out??
My plan is to take the bus from Delhi to Leh.. Options???
Stay at youth hostel... and roam around...

Suggestions welcome...
Gonna be fun to live on a small pocket while traveling...

in 10days you can cover main tourist attractions of ladakh like--pangong lake, nubra valley, local places around leh city,local monastry, and yes take manali --leh route its a main charm of ladakh.

how many of you are travelling .if you have group then hiring a taxi will be cheap..
and if you are alone then bus will be ok but travelling by bus..oh god---

and main thing your trip depends on opening of manali--leh route.as you are travelling in may

The best way to go would be to take a train to Jammu and from there go to Leh.

Anagha,
To and fro Travel from Delhi to Leh by bus/taxi would take 5-6 days itself. You would have around 5 days to explore Ladakh.
Nubra valley would take 2 days if you travel till Diskit/Hunder. Pangong again will take 2 days.
Then you can roam around Leh exploring monasteries and other places.
White water rafting would take another day, although you will be free by late afternoon.
It's really difficult to manage a trek in so much limited time.
Another point is, if you plan to stay at YHAI hostel, check the availability as early as possible.
