Changspa or "in town": please help me make up my mind!
(Or, as they say, the place where my mind was...)
I have the option of Asia Guesthouse in Changspa or Paul GH "in town"; I'm planning to be in Leh for just four or five daysin July. (flying in from Delhi, and I do realize the first day will be just resting: I plan to do my 100 or so postcards then!) From what I've read, "Changspa" can be all over the map as far as its closeness to things, but it also seems that maybe it's a little more peaceful? What are your thoughts? |

Two things to consider are (1) that I've heard that Changspa has gotten busier recently and isn't quite as peaceful as it used to be (but I haven't been there for about 6 years so this is second-hand!) but it's probably still quieter than the main part of to town and (2) Changspa isn't off in a remote location, so even if you stay there, you won't be a long walk from "downtown" anyway. I think I'd make the choice based more on whether the guesthouse had a nice terrace or garden to hang out in.
I think Asia GH has a garden. |
