Anyone planning Srinagar-Leh-Ladakh in June?

we already got our tickets booked for the 6th of june for jammu and back from jammu on the 16th. so with 10 days in hand, we are looking at covering srinagar and leh ladakh. we are travelling by train to jammu and from there for rest of the travel we would either hire a taxi or take a bus, whick ever we will find convenient. so the travel from delhi to jammu and back from jammu is fixed, rest all needs to be taken care of then depending on the options available.

Hi Peaches, not sure how indiamike works for moving forward from here. On ThornTree Lonely Planet you can send a personal mail if you want to fix a time or place to meet up - wonder if Indiamike users can tell us?

One of us will be on a 10 day tour, I will be there in Ladakh for a while longer.

hi ullas you have not mentioned dates and from where ur travelling to srinagar - leh. Me,my wife and kid are travelling from mumbai to manali around 15th june. we r planning to do a trip to leh. starting from Delhi on June 1st...through Manali/Srinagar...
2 of us, we r management grads from Mumbai. and would like to be back in delhi by june 9/10...

looking forward for guys to share the cab/jeep expenses...

hi Skuz,
our plans have moved towards flying to Srinaga on 4th and spending a day or two looking around then finding a mode of transport on the Srinagar - Leh route. looks like you are planning it the otherway around? ie manali - Leh - Sn..

yeah...as in..thats the plan now...but then we havent decided on anything as yet....we can come through srinagar as well..but..even if its from srinagar/manali, we would want to start on june 2nd...from sn/manali..have taken leaves till june 10th..so..thats the major constraint on our part...

see if the itinerary matches....

am goin to Leh via one of the routes : Manali or Srinagar and comin back by the other. we are a team of 3. anybody interested in joinin can get in touch. much of the plan is in place. we are goin from 10th to 24th aug. teaming up will bring down the expense and we will also be able to do a private vehicle and not take the local transport. thus halting at any location on the routes will be possible. will await a reply. u can also mail at tannaravi@hotmail.com
