If you plan to use the road Pallavipd 10-12 days will be difficult.
Srinagar to Leh will be a 2 day trip with a stopover at Kargil. Though i heard few taxi do it in one go but its not worth the effort. Factor in driving back another 2 days balance left is 7-8 days. Yogesh i guess would be better at this than me...

If you really need a tour operator ravine trek is the best. They have got an office in Mumbai at Borivali. My Aunty (In their group all were above 50 yrs) had toured with them this summer & were very much satisfied with their service. Mr. Kamlesh Lalan is the man in charge.

Ronak.

.
You can contact a local ladakhi trekking Guide Thinlas Chorol who conducts tours into remote villages .Most of the other trekking outfits in leh only take people on the crowded routes.

update

Leh has become highly commercialised. The very green and beautiful ‘Changspa’ now resembles Old Manali.

Here are some new tips:
1. If you are looking for a greener area to stay in, head further up towards Sankar Gompa , Karzoo or Chubi.

2. These days there are too many 'tour/trek' companies offering ‘cheap’ trips. Whenever you buy a trip, especially a trek, ask to speak to the trekking guide first and ask him to explain the trek and find out if he can point out the places on a map. Ask about food and how many horses. staff etc

3. With so many outsiders coming to Leh for a summer job, the area has also become unsafe with reports of rape etc. Be careful and ladies do not stay out late alone.

Anyway, all those planning on a trip to Ladakh this summer – Welcome!
