advice needed on clothing required in Ladakh in August end...

hey ,

we are planning a trip to ladakh in august end ... can someone guide us about the kind of clothing (jackets, boots, gloves etc ) which is suitable for the weather there... ?

Are you planning to trek?
If not, then not much is required

this is what we had taken for a trip in august last year other than the usual t-shirts and jeans
1. A sweater
2. A heavy denim jacket
3. a scarf/dupatta to act as muffler if required

Unless you are planning to trek there is no need of boots etc. sneakers will do fine.

Dear Trishna,

Layered clothing would be useful in Leh around at that time, as it can be pretty warm under the sun, but in case its cloudy & in evening, jacket would be very handy. i personally avoid sweaters for leh, as they catch a lot of dust.

Nayan is correct, its depends on person to person.
Last trip few weeks back, I was the only one with a T-shirt on and some of the group members had to wear two layers of woolen clothing.

Advise on this would be a thermal inner, a insulated jacket
More than sufficient for the trip
