9 days in Leh-Plans

Hi,

I fly into Leh 28th June and have 9 days, leaving on the 9th day back down to Mananli by road and then working my way down to rajasthan.

1) Any suggestions for a nice play to stay for first 2 nights acclimitisation in Leh, looking for a double room with en suite for about 1000 rupees a night. Any suggestions of hotel/guest house or an agency to book with.

2) Itinary wise, probably don't have enough time for a proper trek but maybe a few days in Nubra valley and sleep in camps. Any suggestions?

3) What is the nearest place to white water rafting? Anyprice estimates for an afternoon of it for 2 people?

4) Can anyone help on travel plans for Leh to Rajasthan by road/bus etc but not air. Want to work down to Manali, how much by shared jeep, heard its safer than bus?! Then where should I work towards for nearest major train hub to get a train into Rajasthan?

Any help with any of these questions would be hugely appreciated as it is my first trip so want to ahve any idea of these kinds of things before arrivng.

If you get a jeep that does it in two days , yes. That may be hard nowadays (unless you form a group yourself). I was unable to find anything but the cannonball run for Manali, including shortcutting in the Gatta Loops, for Rs 1200 at the very end of the season last time.

Hey Elijah,
We are reaching Leh first week of July, so might catch you there. We are on a shoestring budget so i think we will go by a jeep one side and a bus the other (Manali-Leh-Manali) .. We would be coming from Delhi. Do shoot me an email if u need to discuss something.
