some basic questions regarding Manali

Hi,
I have 4 questions regarding our trip to Manali

1.Is river rafting in River Beas a good option, as in is it thrilling?

2.How much is the travelling time for a) Shimla-Manali b)Manali-Dharamsala c)Dharamsaala-Amritsar

3. I have booked in tree house cottages Kulu for stay, any feedback/suggestions about the place?

4.We are travelling via Shimla to Manali, only to travel in the mountain train, is it worth it?

Appreciate your valuable suggestions,
Thanks,
Nuram

1) River rafting in Beas is done from Pirni (near Kullu) to Jhiri, total 14 Km in summers, as water in beas in winter is very less.

2) Shimla - Manali Around 7 Hours
Manali - Dharamsala Around 7 Hours
Dharamsala - Amritsar Around 5-6 Hours.

3) Kullu is a good place. You can visit Raghunath Temple, Bekhli on a mountain top & excurssion to Bijli Mahadev.

4) Views from Toy train is very good. Depends on your liking.

YMCA guest house behind church near Ritz cinema is a good choice...

Nice clean place, bang on the ridge...

That;s low season, so I do not see any need for prebooking...

But you may search their phone no. (the one with me is old) and have a word with him...
