| Solang Valley Resort - Manali Hi All, I have booked solang valley resorts, Manali for my honeymoon for the period 10 Dec to 13 Dec , Honeymoon Package in Presidential Suite for 29,000 excluding tax. I would like to get some review about the resort and services and if it is worth this much money. and also do let me know if i would get to see the snow during this period. Budget is not the concern for me for travelling so any idea how much would it cost if i book a cab from Delhi to Manali. and if its comfortable ? what places should i plan to see if i am staying in solang valley as i believe its 7 km away from the city. | Excellent Place for Honeymoon.. Though a bit away from the Main City but not too much of a problem if you're hiring a cab. Should visit Manali, Solang Nullah, Kothi, Naggar Castle, Vashishth, Roerich Gallery etc. You will find enough threads in this forum regarding what places to visit in Manali. Just use the search button on the top.  Manali is about 600 Kms for Delhi so I would think a decent 4x4 like Safari or for that matter Qualis/Innova should be about 10 Rs/Km. You may want to add night charges etc for driver and toll taxes etc. I'd say about 15-16k for the Cab all in all taking into account the local travel as well. |

| Hi Rakesh, we are staying there in the 3rd week. Here are my reasons for choosing solang valley 1) My shortlist : highland park, log huts, ambassador, solang 2) Loghuts will be awesome in summer but i was a bit concerned about heating and also going out to eat at night in the cold. 3) Highland park rooms are awesome but the location is neither in town nor near the attractions. 4) didnt like the rooms in ambassador (good rooms dont have good views) 5) Solang rooms seem to be very nice and it is near one of the places we want to visit but location far from mall area. We finally decided to take one day trip to mall/ log huts area/vashisht and spend the rest of the time in SVR. Naggar/Roerich Gallery can be visited while goingto or returning from manali (if going/coming from kullu/bhuntar). Good luck and all the best. do let us know how the resort is if you have internet access in the following week. Orangestreet, decided on solang for above reasons. thanks for your help. will keep you posted. |

| Is it Snowing now in manali ? as it has already started snowing in Kashmir. i would really appreciate If anyone have any idea about snow forecast in manali. Rakesh |
