Snow in Feb 2nd week at Manali?

Hi,
I'm planning a trip to Manali from 5th to 7th of Feb 2012 along with my parents. Sole reason is to make them feel and touch snow.. Pls tell me the chances of us finding snow at that time in Manali. If you all suggest it's doubtful, then I'm ready to go else where also.. Kindly suggest friends.

I want to do a good visit [really looking for snow] from 10th Feb 2012 to 19th Feb 2012. And I realy like to use mostly trains and busses. I have selected some placesses but really confuse where should I go. I would Like to visit vaishno devi in the alst two days of my tour.

I have planned following tours:

New Delhi -> Amritsar -> Dalhousi -> PatniTop -> Katra [Vaishno devi] - > New Delhi

10tf Feb, 2012 -- Towards Amritsar
11tf Feb, 2012 -- Reached Amritsar, visit golden temple and vagha border
12tf Feb, 2012 -- Towards Dalhousi [12-13-14]
15tf Feb, 2012 -- Towards PatniTop [15-16-17]
18tf Feb early morning, 2012 -- Towards Katra
18tf Feb early evening start chadhai, 2012 -- Towards Katra
19tf Feb left Katra/Jammu towards Delhi
20th feb Delhi Reached

New Delhi -> Kalka -> Shimla -> Manali -> Katra [Vaishno devi] - > New Delhi
[I am confused here on my travel here as I feel this is very hactic travel]. I heard that Kalka to shimla toy train is having very beautiful views.

Please suggest somebody.

hey sourav
There's nothing much to see in Kullu, for travel you can either go by air to Bhuntar airport near Kullu and then to Manali bt road from there you would get a lot of taxi's operating from airport, ot you can take a volvo from HP Tourism's office in New Delhi directly to Manali

@ Ishan, I will be in Manali around that time as well and as per the forecasts, there will be decent snowfall for 2-3 days during that time period.
Some of my ramblings!

Hi Sourav,

There are a number of threads listing some interesting places around manali worth a visit - from what I recall, you could do Kasol (towards Kullu side) Naggar (same route) and Solang valley where you can enjoy snow!

This is the forecast for Solang during the next week -

Day 6 to 9 forecast for 3750 m altitude
A moderate fall of snow, heaviest on Wed morning (15 Feb). Temperatures will be below freezing (max -4°C on Mon afternoon, min -13°C on Sun night). Wind will be generally light.

Since it is your honeymoon trip and a short one, I would recommend you stay and relax in Manali and go for day trips. Had you been alone, I would have recommended Chamba/Kangra/Dharmsala.
