roads manali/leh jammu/srinagar/kargil/leh ?

hi,

are the roads still open ?
already snow on passes ?
passable for jeeps , busses etc ?
hiking with private vehicles ?
will roads reopen after snow disappeares ?
affected by earthquake ?

plan to get up to ladakh at beginning of november ?

please advice, would be best from local people with actual informations

ROADS WERE CLOSED TWO WEEKS BACK...but local operators were still luring peaple....this how money game is played.

which roads are closed ? the ones from manali or the jammu-srinagar-kargil road ?
do they reopen when conditions approve again ?
are they closed due to snowfall or just declared closed by goverment and actually still usable ?

concerning flights?

which airlines are currently flying out of chandigarh or jammu to leh ?
on which days of the week ?
can i buy tickets at the airports chandigarh /jammu on short notice ?

Hi thomas,

Flights from Delhi- Leh are quite regular at this time of the year.
I dont have more information about airlines but you sure can check with Jet Airways, as they are most common with their flights to leh.

Flights, usually are operated till Dec last week or Jan. first week.

I went out the 14th , by then the buses had stopped running. I wouldn't try the road this late - even if the conditions looks good when u start , they can change in instant.
