If Holiday Hotel Home is anything to go by I would avoid any HPTDC hotel. I stayed 1 night in holiday home and the place was very poorly run. The window in the bathroom had a broken lock so anyone could climb through. Shifted to Dalziel next day which was much better, although for a honeymoon I would avoid both of these.
If you have the money then there are plenty of good hotels around Shimla. Chapslee or Woodville Palace would be my port of call if I was on honeymoon and had a bit of dosh to spend. http://www.woodvillepalacehotel.com/
Let us know your budget and I am sure better suggestions can be made.

Even Manali Resort is a good optation
you'd get a lot of good resorts in the loghuts area of manali.

hi,
i stayed in sunshine guest house on the way to log huts. it was very very fine and so roomy(like a house).i paid rs.300 per day. for this price,it was tooooooooo worthy and has very good view of manali hills from the guest house.
they prepared food also like home type.so,you would not been a problem of stomach problems.
only disppointment was,no water heater.but, they give hot waters in buckets as per our desire.so,this will not be a problem.
there were fire camp options is also available in room.if u desire, fire camp also possible.
if u will not like it,you can very easily search a good accomadations as per your taste near by log huts road.
dont stay in town hotels.try to stay in little outside(just 1km).

Subabau,
Sunshine guest house and Hadimba Cottages are in two entirely different leagues. Sunshine is no doubt a very nice place, I have recommended it in many other posts, but somebody who can afford Hadimba Cottages will certainly not like Sunshine.

Hi
I stayed in HPDTC Log Hots-02 BHK and in my experience they are very badly maintained .The only positive point is their Food which is Delicious .I had tried the Indian cuisine and it was excellent .Rooms will be having one heater but thats not sufficient .Bathrooms have lot of Insects and even Flash are not properly cleaned .
There are lot of decent hotels on your way to HPDTC Huts .
