My first trip to Manali - pls suggest

Hi All,

i am a new member to tis forum and planning a 3 days trip to Manali in September end (26th, 27th and 28th).

Kindly suggest that is it the right time (as there cud be heavy rains) and which are the other adjacent places to travel near manali.

please help me to plan my trip. and if you know some good budget hotels then pls let me know.

Rains have become too undredictable these days.

Rohtang Pass is one nearby place that people frequently visit. Vashtisth is another nearby place quite frequently mentioned on Indiamike.

Time is defenitely right though it would be bit crowded because of holiday season. Apart from Local Manali you can visit Solang, Nagar also. And not to miss Rohtang.

Its snowing at Rohtang and who knows if it does not melt by end of sept. you will have a chance to play with snow.

i am planning to catch a bus on 25th night frm delhi and will come back to delhi on 28th evening...so will i be able to see manali & Rohtang both?

should i go to Kullu as well????

and pls suggest is it worth sparing time for Solang, Nagar and Vashtisth on a 3 day trip as i can not extend my trip for more than dat.....

Sorry to bother you but if u can give me an idea about average rentals Manali's budget hotels then that wud be great....

Visit Manali Local (Hidimba Temple, Manu Maharaj, Club House, Monastries etc.) and Vashisth on 26th.

Visit Rohtang and Solang on 27th. You have to start early (Around 4 AM) for Rohtang to cover both places and to avoid the Rohtang Jam, or skip solang. Visit Rahala falls on the way to Rohtang.

Visit Nagar and Jagatsukh on 28th (start by 10 AM) and return to Manali to Catch the Bus (I think it would be around 5 PM).

Sorry you do not have time for Kullu.

Try HPTDC Hotel Beas that is just next to the Beas river or Rohtang Manalsu.

Hotel Beas is in Manali itself, less than 100 Mtrs from The Mall & Bus Stand.

Rohtang Manalsu is a different hotel in Manali, I think around 500 Mtrs away from The Mall.

One more quicj question, can you suggest some place to stay in Shimla , one afternoon and night. We are planning to start to Manali early next day. Also suggest some place that we can see in Shimla in tht afternoon.
