Manali to Delhi - Better route

Hi
We are a couple with a 3 yr old kid travelling to Manali in Sep mid.
Please suggest me whether Manali to Chandigarh by bus and Chandigarh to Delhi by train is better or a direct bus from Manali to Delhi is better.
We are only worried if the bus journey from Manali to Delhi (Volvo) will turn out too hectic since its going to be a 15 hr journey which they say may get further delayed too.
Please suggest so that i can book online.

It totally depends on your past experience with traveling long distance. 15 hours for some is perfectly normal travel time, and for others it might be too much.

I would suggest a direct volvo to Delhi. Keep the kid engaged during the day so that he/she will have a sound sleep in night. Temprature inside volvo is controlled and the bus used to stop for 15/20 minutes after every 4-5 hour journey.

I would also suggest to book the semi-slipper volvo that are also available and book a separate seat for the kid.

ok. i will better take a direct bus back to delhi. Thanks for the input

Onward - I have booked a bus from Delhi to Manali which starts from delhi at 6:00 PM. will it reach Manali by morning 8:00 or will it take longer?

If I do not consider adverse road conditions like traffic jam, flat tyre etc. which are very rare then the bus will defenitely reach the destination before 9 AM.

Road till Manali is very good and there will not be any delay due to road conditions.
