Hello, these are some options which you can find on booking.com. Very cheap places to stay. Zostel looks super clean to me.

Zostel
Bhoomi holiday homes
Treebo woodstock inn

There are other options also which you can find on the website.

yesterday, zostel was available for 1497 for three nights which means 499 per night. I also have a screenshot in case you wish to see. but the prices change as per the availability i guess.

Depends what you mean by decent. I arrived here on the 4th of April and am paying 200 rupees a night in old manali. Shared bathroom, double bed and WiFi.

You won't have any trouble with the amount of guest houses. No need to in advance

I looked at the site and Zostel quoted over 1000 per nite for the dates I plugged in @DilliDiaries

Viewpoint. I never book anything in advance. You usually pay 30% more for the privilege.

They have an en suite double for 450 atm but will go up for may and June. Not sure why you need a hot shower, too warm for them in the summer.

Just show up and you'll find somewhere, its India so it couldn't be any more simple unless it's holi or some massive festival

Updating websites or answering emails is not usually a priority in India especially places like Manali/Himachal. If you want a nice Shanti (peaceful) place to stay in Manali then somewhere like Appleview is a good choice & like others have said, if you want a good price then don't book in advance, old Manali is only small, pick a few places that look good for you, take a rickshaw from the bus stand then have a wander around & see what's on offer.
