Manali in Nov mid week 09
Hello IMers. I am planning to visit Manali on 17 Nov 09. Have plans of staying for 4/5 days.
Just wanted to see if Rohtang pass will be closed in Nov mid-week? I know the weather is unpredictable but can somebody throw light on that? I know that last year it was closed in mid December. How is the weather now, any snow now? This is my iternary Day 1: Local Manali: (Hidimba Temple + Manali Market + Vashishth Temple + Van Vihar + Tibetan Monastery etc) Day 2: Rohtang Pass + Solang Vally + Nehru Kund + Kothi + Rahla Falls Day 3: Manikaran + Kulu + Vaishnov mata temple + Kasol Valley: (I am ok skipping with Manikaran and vaishnov mata temple) I am planning to stay in Manali and finishing off these locations. Can you somebody plan the rest of the 2 days or probably the entire 5 day trip. These are my places of interest. Rohtang Kothi Marhi Gulaba Solang Palchan Vashishth Manikaran (Not keen) Kullu Raison Naggar Castle & Valley Roerich Art Gallery (Not keen) Keylong I am on a tight budget and we are 6 of us. Any accommodation recommendation is appreciated. In the mean while I am going through the threads and collecting all the information. Thanks in advance |

Your Itinenary is Good. Day 1: It will take a day to see Rohtang Pass. The road to Rohtang pass is bad and so it will take around 2hrs to reach there. You cant club Solang valley along with it if you wish to spend some time there. I think the weather will be OK in November. (we went to Manali early this month - there was no snowfall). Day 2: Solang Valley + Nehru Kund + Kothi + Rahla Falls Day 3: You can go to Kullu. There is nothing much to see here. You can do shopping and White water rafting in Beas River. Day 4: Manikaran + Kulu + Vaishnov mata temple + Kasol Valley Day 5: Local Manali: (Hidimba Temple + Manali Market + Vashishth Temple + Van Vihar + Tibetan Monastery etc) Regards Arvind |

Thanks eeboy and trance for the suggestions. Looks like i will be dropping Kullu if there is nothing to see. I want to stay a day in a place like Kasol or somewhere. I heard kasol is full Iranian hippes and they have lotta ganja parties... is it so?
Suggest me some place in and around where i can blow off the steam "smoking-up". We are 4 guys |
