MANALI->Good Hotels with Excellent View from Room

Dear all,

I know this has been discussed, but i dont think i found an answer to my specific question. It would be nice if you could suggest some good Hotels/Resorts with an excellent view in Manali.

I will be going for a Honey Moon, so the place should be nice... i am travelling in May 2010 which is a peak season so i have to think thoroughly... I initially wanted to go for Ambasasdor Resorts (Manu Allaya) which i think is the best place to stay in Manali?? Hope i am correct ??

But since it is a peak season their rates are very high for a 4night package... can you please suggest something which is close to 3000 per night?

Appreciate your inputs.

Thanks,
Hitesh

My cousins were at Whispering Valley last year and they dint like it. said it was dirty n the management din bother much. I'd suggest the below ones

Ambassador resorts
Apple Valley
Negis Mayflower
Snow Valley
Even Solang Valley resort is considered to be nice.

If you want something economical Sarthak resorts has some Mountain view & Honeymoon suites. Its abt 09 kms off manali.

Thanks Barkha...
Ambassador resorts is something which i had shortlisted as well but is sort of pricey...
I have decided to spend 3 nights in a 3 star accomodation sicne we would mostly be doing sight seeing during that time. Followed by 2 nights in a 4 star accomodation.
Have you heard about Highland Park? It is a 4 star accomodation (www.highlandparkmanali.com) from the reviews i have known that the place seems to have some very good views and location.

I am very much confused about which 3 star accomodation to go for ... you have mentiond that Snow Valley would be good, but i read some recent reviews on tripadvisor that the resort was being renovated and that the staff was not very much interested in the tourists....

Try Log Huts in Manali. You may have to stretch your budget a little. Don't think May will be peak season though.

Not exactly a sports activity kind of a place. You can just relax there doing nothing. It's perfectly peaceful, has very good balconies aand views and there is plenty of scope for short walks where you won't find a single soul.

You can also consider this place. View is not as good as Solang but it's just as great.

Hi Kunsjoi,
I had seen club Mahindra, but they do not seem to have just rooms but have apartments instead (with living room e.t.c) because of which the price becomes a bit high.....

Span resorts seem to be good from the pics which they have on their website... i shall check out the rates and other details....

Thanks for your inputs,
Hitesh

Thanks Orangestreet,

I was considering log huts ... but read some reviews which stated that the place could become very scary sort of at nights since its far from the main area and very dark outside the cottages and the room service is not very good ..some even commented about the interiors not being upto teh mark since it is of hptdc....

You think May is not a peak season? that sounds soothing to my ear most of the hotels/ resorts are having special rates for may stating that its their peak season...

What do you guys think about Highland Park (http://highlandparkmanali.com/home.html) ? I am considering staying here for 2 nights if i get a decent discount on teh rates?

And anotehr 3 nights at manali heights (http://www.manaliheights.com/) (on those days when i would be going sight seeing manali)

Appreciate if you can give some reviews on the above two... though the rates for both the place at the moment is a bit higher than my budget but i will be expecting some decent discount if i decide to stay there...
