Hotel/area with best views in manali

After reading seeral reviews i am really confused as to where to stay in manali. Our budget would be around 1000-1200rs per day.
We would be staying in treehouse cottages,katrain for 2 days. I am looking for some other place for the next 4 days.
1. Log huts road and hadimba road- Is this area crowded with traffic jams and all of that in june? And does it hae good views?
2. Old manali- Are there any drug scenes? And how about the views?
3.Solang- i read about hotel iceland. Wil this place gett crowded during summers?
4. Naggar highway- Any recommendations which are reasonably priced?

Any other place you can recommend?

In old manali you can try Apple view guest house.We stayed there for 5 days last year.It is a small family run guest house on top of a small hill.The view is just awesome from this place.It is surrounded by apple trees and river Manalsu runs nearby.The rates were Rs 250 per room last year.One problem would be they do not have attached bathroom.The owners name is Rabet Ram and if needed i can give you his contact number as well.

Sound like a great place...is the place clean?and i read somewhere that i will have to walk a considerable distance from my vehicle to reach this place.How much exactly is this distance?

Yes the place is very much clean.You have to walk some 200 mts to reach the place.There are some 40 odd stairs to climb.As for parking the vehicle the owner can arrange for it.We parked our vehicle in a nearby club.

And i have heard they have shared toilets. So how safe is that to use?
And how is the food?
Also is the walk to the road very steep or something like that?

Yes they have a common toilet.But it was quite clean when we visited.The walk is just like climbing some stairs in a building and not very steep.

And how is the food? Or are there restaurants close by?

Checked out the pics..they were nice. But is the place from druggists and is it safe?
And is it crowded?
