Good news for all delhi-manali freaks. From 1st Oct,2005 HP Tourism has started a/c sleeper volvo buses. The fare is Rs.1100/-.

After my trip this June on a 2X2 supposedly deluxe bus I have suddenly developed a love for ordinary government buses.

But this one should be good, only the price is too high for me!

I will prefer govt run buses (HPTDC and HRTC), they are punctual and drivers are experienced.

i an about to take either the
-> hp tourism bus from manali to delhi
(volvo ac, 5.30 pm daily, 1190 per person)

-> hp state transport bus from manali to delhi
(Himgaurav, 2*2 luxury ac - 5pm daily, 879 per person)

If any one has prior experience with himgaurav state transport bus, please let me know

i just figured that its gonna be a night travel, and thus we would require recliner sleepers, so himgaurav 2*2 is out of question.
And apart from tha himsuta leaves at 4pm.
I would prefer spending an hour an half more in manali and leave at 5.30pm by the tourism bus

I just confirmed from HPTDC, Volvo AC is NOT Sleeper, its semi sleeper...
