Climate of Manali during early december?
Climate of Manali during early december?
Hello everyone...
I am planning for my honeymoon (early december)
I am keen on going up north, especially Shimla, manali, Dalhousie, Dharamshala..
i am aware that it will b winter time during the time frame tht i am planning to go to these places..Still, i have this intense yearning to go to these places!
will it b ABSOLUTELy a bad idea to plan the trip in december? i was thinking tht i cud take advantage of the off-season discounts too!
Kindly reply to ths post and help me plan my honeymoon...

Hi, firstly congrats on the upcoming wedding!!
Anand if you wanna go then there is nothing to stop you. yes, It will be cold . Rohtang will be closed but it will be a good experience..but Manali might not necessarily be considered off -peak during winter.Snow is a big attraction and there tends to be enough crowd floating around irrespective of the season....which will no take anything away from the beauty of the region at that point.
I love the snow, and i love the mountains...so maybe a bit of a biased opinion here but to sum it...no I dont think it will be a bad idea at all. You might not have too many things to do but hey then again you are on a honeymoon...so maybe just as well .....

thanks puccho for ur reply..
i guess i can now go ahead wid snows as my destination!
some more info needed regarding the following-
1.will Shimla be a better place or Manali during december?
(v were kind of planning for a 7 day honeymoon, wid 4 and 3 days split up.the probllem is i am totally clueless as to places i can consider..will Manali and Shimla combo b a good idea or whether Dalhousie and Dharamshala combo will b a better one?
this question might seem silly to some members i know! But thn again such doubts do crop up especially if u havent been to these place b4 and whn u want it to b the most memorable period of ur life!)
2.can we trust HPTDC while arranging for our stay and transport, and do the bookings online? or do we need to approach any travel agency for the same?
3.finally, if anyone knows of places better than the usual shimla, Manali, Kullu, etc, kindly fell free to suggest :-)
