Will i get a cab for this route? How much will it cost?
Can someone recommend me any travel agency in pathankot for this journey?
And which are the places to be visited on the way?
And will this same cab be allowed for sightseeing in manali?

Certainly, you'll get a cab from chakki bank or pathankot. approximately Rs.1500-2000 per day will be the costing depends on the quality of the cab. Your first visit will be Dalhousie via khajiyar. On the way to Manali, you may stop at Dharamsala, Chaminda Devi Temple and Mandi. Yes the same cab will be allowed for sightseeing in Manali except Rotang-La Pass for which you have to take permission from local taxi owners' asso. by paying Rs.100 or so. Driver may know all these points of attraction and permission for rotang.
You should tell the driver about your destination and show him a route chart to clear the payment terms and days to cover the same. My suggession not to take any travel agency, it is not that type of tour.

Why exactly are you traveling to Manali via this route?
It will be better for you to reach Chandigarh from Pune and then take a Volvo bus or a car from there to Manali.

That's because to get to chandigarh, we'll have to get down at ambala- at which the jhelum exp arrives at an odd timing of 1.30am or change at delhi or mumbai which we really want to avoid. Also night travel would not be very comfortable in a bus. So we have taken this route.

ps- Can you tell me how off the route is the kangra fort from the main highway?

It is just 3-4 kms from Main Highway. The area is called "Purana Kangra".
Car goes upto Gate of this fort. A very good place, with a Beautiful view, although fort is in Ruins. I think there is also a museum, I 'd visited there long ago in 1991.

Can you provide contact number of good driver or from where you booked cab to Manali, we need to go to kullu from Pathankot.
