Cab Delhi - shimla - manali - Delhi
Cab Delhi - shimla - manali - Delhi
Hello All,
I need some pointers to good travel agencies in Delhi who can provide Cab service to Manali. I am from Bangalore and I would be landing in Delhi on 14th of feb. I will be accompanied by my parents. So I think Tata indica would be the best option. Therefore
a) Please suggest some good cabbies from Delhi
b) Would expect the driver to be a experienced ghat section driver
c) What is the best deal: 4 Rs/KM or 5 Rs/KM
I am planning to book hotels in advance for shimla, manali, dalhousie, dharamshala thru the HPTDC Bangalore branch. I hope that is ok.
Thanks and Regards
Sudhindra

Welcome to IndiaMike!
I don't think an Indica would be a good option!
They are tiny (there's three of you) with limited luggage space and an astonishing capacity for breaking down in the most awkward places.
An Indigo would be better and not so much more expensive, but if you're planning on heading off the main highway at any point I'd suggest a 4x4. In fact having just recently experienced Himachal in an Indigo, I'd suggest a 4x4 anyway.

Mosquitos suck.
Thanks, but please let me know some good travel agencies in Delhi where I can book the car.

I'm sorry my answer didn't help you. I will try to be more useful.
There are many threads on IndiaMike which offer suggestions for car and driver companies. Here are some that come up regularly:
Rajasthan Four Wheel Drive (based out of Jaipur, I think they do all North India, not just Rajasthan but you'd have to contact them)
Namaste India Tours
Beckon Tours
On TripAdvisor, many people recommend Travelvirus.
These are just the companies I remember. There are many more. I suggest you do a search (the search function is on the red nav bar at the top, on the far right). Searching for Car and Driver or Car Tour should bring up relevant threads. Good luck.

I had a good experience with a driver on my himachal tour in april 2008.
we had booked him from shimla but he said he picks up clients from delhi too.
His name is Shri Ramchandra(cell - 94180 27528)
His email is dreamspiti88@gmail.com
I have recommended him elsewhere in Indiamike too. We found him reliable, pleasant and a very safe driver.

Hi,
I would suggest you that u should travel by himachal roadways volvo buses they are very comfertable, and you can get buses from
delhi to shimla,
shimla to manali
manali to delhi
for time table and booking you can visit himachal pradesh transport official site:
http://hp.gov.in/hrtctickets/
as you are traveling in feb and you would definately see snow fall, and cab drivers from plains are not that much expert driving in snow.
you can book local taxi at shimla, manali etc.
