Tollygunge club other hotels and eats in Kolkatta

Hi I was wondering if anyon knew what the Tollygunge was like as a place to stay? Or if you guys have great recommendations for midrange hotels?

Also Kolkatta restaurants:

Can anyone recommend a great restaurant for Chinese or Bengali food, midrange- expensive? I mean the kind of place you could take family to for a celebratory meal? I know there are some great places in Salt Lake but I don't know their names.

Thank you

The Tollygunge is OK ... nice a quiet (Very welcome after a day in the noise of Calcutta)

It is out of the City centre, but only a 10 minute walk from the Metro (Tollygunge)

As to somewhere to eat ... The Tolly is good ... but in the past I have been to the "Bar B Que" in Park Street. (Chinese or Indian) food very good, good service, not too expensive.

Try Bhajahari Manna for Bengali cuisine - they have a website you may check to get their addresses as they have 5-6 outlets sread across the city.
For Chinese, try Royal Jade in Kasba very near to Rubi Hospital and DPS School, you'll love it.
