Sunflower hotel/guesthouse

I've been searching through IndiaMike as well as the internet to find some contact information/rate info for this hotel that has been highly recommended in various books. Does anybody have any information about the sunflower hotel? I know very little about it, other than the fact that the elevator is "interesting"

That alone would make it worth checking out I'd say

Er, sorry, no, I don't know the place. Hopefully someone else will.

most gracious for your information. Have you ever stayed there? Good place to stay in Kolkata? I've checked the hotels section of IM and have attempted to contact Hotel Victerrace with little success through email. Regardless, the phone number will go a long way and many thanks.

My husband stayed in the Sunflower in January and liked it. He mentioned in an email the 'antiquated lift' and 'equally antiquated lift attendant'!
If you'd like me to ask him anything specific about it I will.

Although I speak very little urdu and absolutely no hindi, I was able to call the guest house from my workplace and book a room. The man on the other end was very helpful and our hin-glish was my first of many such conversations I plan to have when in India. Thanks again!

in India, There is not much difference in
spoken Hindi and urdu.

Enjoy your stay in India

If you just search the web for +"sunflower guest house" +kolkata (maybe try calcutta as well), you'll find it listed on the web alright, so you may find contact details there.

Ah, there's a phone nr. in post #3 above even I see now.
