Staying at Kolkata

Hi

I will be staying at Kolkata for 3-4 months Dec-April 08-09.

Does anyone have an idea how/where I can rent a decent furnished one/two bed accommodation in South Kolkata (that's where my work is!) Tell me what prices to expect if possible, so I am prepared.

I am a single woman so safety is also a major concern.

Thanks for help.
Regards

If you mention your budget, it's easier to give suggestions.

Pl check up www.kolkata.locanto.in
You should not pay more than usd 500-600 p.m.for short term accomodation in south kolkata and try to get it preferably in a housing complex.

You may want to contact some of the learning institutions that work with foreigners, like the American Institute of Indian Studies (http://www.indiastudies.org), Ramakrishna Mission - also a good place to take language classes (http://www.sriramakrishna.org/), and Centre for Studies in Social Sciences (http://www.cssscal.org). These places help foreigners find flats all the time.
