South Kolkata location for walking
For my late night arrivaI in Kolkata I have booked a room at the Bodhi Tree Guest house near Rabindra Sarovar Metro (Fairlawn, my first choice is full). I am a solo woman traveller and I like to have a comfortable, confirmed reservation my first few nights in India. The budget room and facilities look good on the website. I am curious about the area, what it is like for walking (esp. in the early evening )and exploring? good places to eat? shopping? It is near the Metro so will be easy to get to other areas during the day. I like the idea of being away from Sudder street (spent 2 weeks there last visit) but I do like street life and being able to walk to a restaurant for dinner rather than always having to take taxis to get places. Would love any feedback on the area...

Hi em2
I am in a similar situation for next month and am considering staying at the bodhi. I would really appreciate it if you could let me know how your stay went. Thanks! |
