Mosquitos and deet repelent

Hello peoples,
Can somebody please tell:-No1,are mosquitos still plentiful in Kolkata at the end of November?
No2,what is deet? Is it a natural extraction or a man made chemical ie:- synthetic?
No3,what means lol on forum posts?

DEET was developed by the US military, which guarantees a range of conspiracy theories accompany it about its effects on humans.

it's considered safe is used as directed. i've never had a problem with it.

DEET is not a natural extraction. If you want to know the chemical composition of it, have a look here:

DEET is an effective ingredient in mosquito repellent. It works best if you don't marinade in it lest you also repel people. LOL

Yes, there are still mosquitos in Kolkata in November, and also in December and January.

Well, thanking you all most kindly for your information good peoples.I will probably use some product with deet on clothing.
For the last couple of winters in Goa ,i have used various preparations of natural ingredients bought in health food/whole food shops in Europe on my skin+shaven head ..If these bought preps donīt have citronella oil in them,i add it.
Mossie bite free + no insecticide in blood stream.
