| Kolkata-Siliguri Overnight by Road Hi, we're arriving in Kolkata late one evening from boating the waters at Sunderbans; we want to be in Siliguri ASAP so we can move onto Gangtok without any delays, and air means we leave Kolkata only the next early afternoon. Was wondering if we could hire a taxi to take us to Siliguri from Dalhousie or Esplanade? Please advice re. safety plus give me a clue how to go about booking such, if at all feasible.

| there is regular bus service from kolkata to siliguri........ also probably there is Volvo service...........however if you are sure of your travel dates it is better to travel by train......... trains take little bit extra time but it is much more comfortable journey. serach for trains from sealdah to new jalpaiguri

Trains - can't seem to get tickets, and it's not yet Tatkal time (I'm travelling 18th night). Will try again next week, though, checking if Tatkal opens up. Bus - Online, WTDC seems to have a timetable showing just one bus leaving at 8pm; I know that's likely completely outdated, but not sure how to check for more or book... | |

| NH34/NH 31 like surface of the Moon, You require a Armoured vehicle to cross this Strectch. No Volvo / Scania can escape through This route. Best of Luck for your Train Ticket. Cheers |

| Hi, I'm having a really hard time finding a train from NJP to Kolkata. The only one that runs appears to be the "KANCHANKANYA EX." I want to travel ideally on May 31st or June 1st, are there any other trains? I'm not sure if I'm putting the right destination station in, because there has to be more than one train that goes there. If worst comes to worst I'm just going to hop on a train with a waitlisted ticket and hope I can bribe the ticket guy... :0 |
