is kolkata really cheap ??
Recently there was a survey which mentions Kolkata as cheapest of all other big Indian cities.
is it really so ?. I am salaried employee. I may be transfered to Mumbai. But it is very costly and no scope for accomodation etc. If given option, I may consider kolkata, how is real estate scenario in Kolkata?. Can a book a flat (2bhk) in decent area for say 20-25 lakhs.? |

1. rent 2. wages of domestic help 3. local transport - cheap share-taxi/share-autos are available in most office commute routes. A 2bhk for 20-25 lakhs is very much possible in middle class areas. just a thought here - are you bengali? middle class areas in kolkata are overwhelmingly bengali in culture. Its very different from Mumbai in that sense - mumbai is much more cosmopolitan. |
