Hi all, I have a train on 6.50 AM in morning from the Kolkata (Chitpur) Rail station. I have no idea how I have to reach there. Can anyone please tell me, from Howrah or Sealdah, which bus I have to avail? Or, in taxi, how much time it will take? Actually, I am quite anxious about it, as it is on the morning.

Pls help me depicting the approx time, mode of transport considering the time.

Mod note : Please don't use SMS abbreviations such as 'pls'. Words should be spelled out in full.

Hi, I do not know the exact bus numbers to Kolkata station from Howrah or Sealdah. But, from Howrah station in the morning, a cab should take maximum 50 minutes to reach there. From Sealdah, it should not take more than 35 mins.
If I were you I would book a radio taxi. A few months back I booked Mega cab for my 6:40 am train from Howrah station. The cab picked me up from my house in Salt Lake at around 5:50 and dropped me off at the station by 6:20. You can ask the cab to pick you up at any time. I think a 5:30-am-pickup should be good enough.

Hi debarati,

Welcome to Indiamike.

chonnochara told you rightly about the taxis. But you have not said where from you want to go there.

It appears you'll reach Howrah/Sealdah by train. Recently many trains are scheduled to start from Kolkata/Chitpur station - so don't worry about getting there.

Happy reach

Howrah to chitpur

Best way to take a cab from Howrah Station to reach Chitpur Station, Rs 180.00(Aprox.)
or
Take a share taxi from the taxi stand for Sealdha Rs. 20.00 & get down at M.G. Road flyover
and take a taxi from there for chitpur, will cost Rs. 80.00 (aprox.)
In the morning, if you are lucky enough, you can get share taxi for chirpur also, cost you about Rs. 60.00(aprox.)

The Taxi Fares are revised from 1st November 2012.

the new formula or equation is Meter Reading X 2.4 + 1 = New Fare

See this link for detail http://shobjaanta.blogspot.in/2012/1...-calcutta.html
