Hotels near Kolkata airport

My partner and I are arriving in India, Kolkata late at night and we're wondering if anyone knows of a clean hotel near the airport.

We don't want to be wondering to far in a country we don't know yet.

Hotel AIrport Ashok is besides the Airport. You can also take a cab and come down a little (20 minutes) through the EM Bypass and check in at Hyatt Regency or ITC SOnar Bangla. All are 5 star category. If you can book in advance, tell them to send a car from the hotel to the airport. That will be better and safe.

Airport Ashoka is Closed
So cant stay there

LOL Why does this remind me of rickshaw drivers going "No, sir! It's been closed/burnt down/flooded, yes, even though it says Ashuka, it's the same!," etc.

Have you anything to back up this information? Might be helpful to others

I too plan to fly down and am landing around 12am. Did some research with friends staying in Kolkatta.
Did the search at the airports facilities for transit stay and was told the unprofitable hotel which was supposed to be privatised has been closed. This was because of labor prolems etc.
So have booked Hotel Rupasi Bangla
Wonder how far it is from the airport

Good selection. Rupasee Bangla, Heritage / Host International …….. these are the perfect (location). It will take not even 7-10 min (taxi) from airport.
