High Rise Apartment for Recommendation?

Hi, I'm just about to move to Kolkata and I want to find a nice high rise type apartment complex with a gym and pool.
Does anyone know of any, especially in South Kolkata?
thanks for help!
Eric

Is southeast okay? Udita and Hiland Park off the EM Bypass are nice.

Whereabouts in South Kolkata are you looking?

I'm still learning what areas are nice so any advice is great. I wanted a really nice apartment, somewhat close to downtown and to the airport...

I lived in Hiland Park when I was in Kolkata. Nice place, but it costs 100 rupees/30 mins in a cab to get into town. The area is quite isolated.

Mod Note: Sometimes these sorts of questions result in a spate of commercial activity from members joining up just to advertise their real estate services or apartments for renting etc.

However, so long as the thread is confined to answers re areas where there are nice places for you, eric, it will be a useful information thread for other readers. So let us keep this thread to this aspect of the question only. Members who personally live in high rise apartments might recommend what theirs is like, and if possible vacancies are there. But we do not want any advertising here, thank you!

What do you mean by "town"?
I dont think the hiland park area is isolated. there is public transport as well as shops/supermarkets/multiplex.

The airport is in north eastern kolkata. So there is nothing which will be in south kolkata as well as close to the airport.

By town I mean Park St etc. I caught the bus to work every day (near Park Circus) from Hiland Park and it took almost a hour one way. The good thing about Hiland Park is that there is a cinema, and shopping mall at the entrance (oh, and the Big Bazaar -- if you can negotiate your way around the chaos! lol). It's not an ideal location if you want to be near the action around Park Street though.

I dont think you will get an apartment complex near parkstreet which will have a gym and a pool etc.

kolkata is a very congested city(like most other metros around the world) and you wont get a large, modern apartment complex in downtown area(esplanade-parkstreet).

He can try south city complex.

This too has all amenities near it(the area is pretty crowded). but park street will still be atleast 30-45 mins in rush hour.

OP - where will you be working? how much of a commute are you willing to endure? how quiet of an area do you want to live in? also, what is your budget?

I would suggest finding a temporary place and looking around before settling on something. Things important to you now may not be as important once you start living here.
