It is not that bad. Sr. Management staffs are not able to come to office and we are enjoying ….. he he he.
Well, the condition is really very critical. The condition of some areas is hopeless. No electricity, telephone, drinking water and no transportation.

Exclamation Advice, please! Flying to Cal tom'w!

Hi, evrybody!

Could someone in Calcutta please inform me of the distance between Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Interational Airport and the Domestic airport at Behala?

Also, what is the status of the roads between int'l and domestic airports?

My flight is scheduled to leave JFK tomorrow at 20:00 and to arrive in Cal at 05:00 am on July 07.

I had planned to spend a few days in Cal, but since the rains and floods are so heavy, I'd like to go immediately up to Siliguri!

R.

The domestic airport is not in behala.... Behala only has a small flying club and a airstip associated with with.

both the international and domestic airports are in the same compound in Dumdum. dont woory about travel between the two.

NSB International and domestic lounges are in the same compound about half km. distance.NSB to Behala is a long way to go. NSB Airport is in one end and Behala is in the other. There is no problem to go from International to domestic arena.

DOnt get confused . Your Siliguri (Bagdogra) flight will commence from the domestic terminal just beside the Netaji Subah International AIrport. Just a few minutes walk.

As said, the airstrip (not airport) in Behala is for the Behala Flying CLub. I reside in Behala and always see that yellow coloured cute little single-propeller plane hovering above in the blue sky. That is from this Behala FLying CLub, giving training. Believe me, the eagles and vultures beats it all the time.

In my school day, with friends, we sometimes visited the airstrip and played cricket on it with the locals. That time, however, the club was closed for some reasons.

Rajive, welcome to Kolkata .

Today it is comparatively better. Still it will take one or two days to settle down. Here is the picture of Rajarhat area (New Town) of Kolkata.

Red face I think you should change this news.

It is quite normal to get rains in rainy season. and while there are floods going on all over the world. and the weatehr report is available in all the news channel. Why to eat some space here. If not for soem specific reason..????

It's an older thread and if I recall the mods (probably me) decided to move it to News as it seemed newsworthy at that time, and frankly I don't understand what you're upset about.

Imagine all the complaints about stuff we move away from news. It'll sink into the archives if no one keeps bringing it up.

[Mod note then: you're right. Moved back to Kolkata. Please PM a mod a next time.]
