Hi there, Ill be in Kolkata for 1 day on 1.12.2016. Im staying at ISKCON in Minto Park. I plan to visit Kalighat, Belur Math and Dakshineswar (in that sequence) - all 3 places before noon. I need advise as to whether there are any ferry service (and station name) close to ISKCON in Minto Park where from I can take a ferry up to Belur Math. Id like to avoid the land travel (taxis, trams and local trains) to Belur Math (if possible). Do also suggest an alternative to the sequence. Thank you for your time.

There was a ferry service from Baghbazar to Belur Math, other IMers from Kolkata can confirm whether that still works or not.

You can take a metro from Rabindra Sadan to Shyambazar, and go for that ferry if that works. Or if you want to visit Kalighat first, you can take the metro from Kalighat Metro Stration to Shyambazar and take the Ferry for onward journey.

HI there. Thank you for your reply. Apologise for the late response. I forgot my loging and password last year and was unable to login again. there was some technical issues.

Anyways, I had a good trip. I made it to Kalighat. the Metro service helped me to get everywhere I wanted to. It was fast and efficient. And the people of Kolkata were just wonderful! Thank you again.

Ferry Service

Latest as on today:

There are regular ferries on point to point basis: Howrah to Babughat. Babughat to Belur. Belur to Dakshineshwar. They charge Rs 10/- per passengerfor each section.

Just opposite to Howrah station, there is Howrah Ferry Ghat, from where you will get ferry to Babu Ghat.

I was informed, there are two direct ferries from Dakshineshwar to Howrah, which remain discontinued during Puja festivity.
