Hi Friends:

I am writing after a long time. I found this site very useful to guide a traveler, so again here. Probably I will visit Jawaharlal Nehru University at New Delhi, during 28 April - 5 May, 2010. Anyway, I would like to travel by train. Now my question is, after arriving Kolkata from Dhaka through Benapole, how can I manage Kolkata-Delhi train? How can I book train ticket? Is it possible to book online? Which one is better? Have there any agency in Bangladesh to work on behalf of Indian Rail? A lot of query, look forward to your kind reply.

Dada Tasuray, Jyotirmoy, Somnath kothay gele dada??? Echo with me "korbo lorbo jitbo re...".

Kolkata - Delhi train can be booked online at www.irctc.co.in or www.cleartrip.com or www.yatra.com.

Howarh-Sealdah Rajdhani are best trains on this route.

Try train number 2259 the Duronto that links Cal to Delhi - leaves from Sealdah in the evening and reaches Delhi an hour or two faster than the Rajdhani trains linking the two cities. You can buy a ticket online.

You could see if you can find either online.

For travel Dhaka-Kolkata, check http://www.seat61.com/Bangladesh.htm#International; again, the question is how up-to-date that is.
